Evaluation 7

What have I learn't from the preliminary task building up to the thriller?

When we first made our preliminary we had to learn the basic since then I have learn't different techniques and how to use technologies. When I first started the course I did not know how to use prezi, kizoa, popplet, slideshare, sliderocket, survey monkey, final cut express and many more, but since then I have developed my skills and used them when needed in our thriller. In Media I have progressed as I also learn't how to film from different angles and what some may suggest. I also had to create a lighting video which showed us how as the angle of the light can suggest different things.

Editing is another skill that I have learn't over the last few months where I can fade music out, cut clips of the video which is not needed, add music on and much more. I have struggled to edit but I have learn't the basics of editing.

We have got taught continuity editing which includes Straight Cut, Fade in, Dissolve, wipes etc.

This image above shows us how in Media we can use the fade in effect

The thriller we have created is called 'Innocence' this shows us a girl getting murdered by a mysterious killer. Some of our thriller video has included darkness where the girl is getting killed as this shows danger and that taking a shortcut home is not the safe option even if you are running late.

Our thriller is different to our preliminary as in the preliminary we didn't use many props or costumes. Our preliminary was basic but as the time went pasted we learnt different techniques and different ways to use light. In our thriller we have used costumes and props to make the person stand out.

In these picture you can see the costumes that have been worn. as you can see in the preliminary we could have improved that as she was suppose to be scary but in the video she looks like an ordinary girl with an angry face. In the thriller you can see that we have choose suitable clothing for the guy and then we have used a prop which is the newspaper. In our thriller you can see we have improved since the preliminary as we have used more suitable costumes and props. The thriller picture also has stereotype as it includes a 'ditsy blonde' and a 'bad hoody'.

Who would be the audience for your media product? And how do I know?

As i have gathered information I realized that the people who did my questionnaire mostly was under 18. Most of them also liked thriller conventions such as suspense ,shock and tension.

Why would they watch my film?

I think that the audience that reviewed my questionnaire will watch my thriller as it contains a little bit of tension on what is going to happen to the girl at the end. Also, it is fast pace video all most throughout the thriller so they will also feel suspense.

This is part of my questionnaire and shows what makes a good thriller. This is information that i took into consideration whilst making this thriller but could not include some because of the environment and props.
